What is the Workplace Charging Scheme?
The Workplace Charging Scheme is essentially a grant of up to £350, per socket, that eligible businesses can claim to reduce the cost of their electric vehicle charging points. It is a voucher-based system which makes it a slightly more complex than its residential counterpart. The voucher is limited to 75% of purchase and installation costs, up to a maximum of £350 for each socket and up to a maximum of 20 across all sites.

Am I eligible for the WCS Grant?
At a glance, any registered business, charity or public authority should be eligible to claim the voucher towards the cost of installing electric vehicle charge point/s provided you have dedicated off-street parking for your staff or fleet use only.
Your business must be located in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, but is not available in the Channel Islands, Isle of Man or crown dependencies. You must be able to provide your Companies House Reference (alternatively, you can use your VAT Registration Number). If your business is not VAT-Registered and/or registered with the Companies House you can still apply but you must be able to attach evidence that you are registered as a company with HMRC.
Your business does not need to own an electric vehicle however you do need to declare either a current need for EV charging infrastructure or an intention to encourage uptake amongst your staff and/or fleet.
Some OLEV applications may require more information and it is ultimately OLEV’s decision on allocating the voucher.

How do I claim this voucher?
To claim your voucher you will need to complete and submit the WCS online application. Once OLEV has approved your application, they will send you the voucher. Please email it to us and then visit our online configurator to place your order. Please note that you must have your voucher prior to placing your order and getting installation.
